Newish member-Airstream dealers in New England?

Good evening! I'm a sort of new member and am looking for Airstream dealers in New England and having some trouble finding them! Where should I look? I'm also interested in any Airstream dealers probably in the East. Thank you!

The sales manager has some knowledge and is personable. They don't have very much in stock. I can't say I would ever go back there. Try Colonial for a better experience. Great inventory.

I'll second the recommendation above to go to Colonial Airstream located in north New Jersey. Great selection, great service and very, very knowledgeable staff. They also have a great website for you to browse with very complete pictures, specs and information on each unit they have in inventory.

The forums are all really helpful. I suspect that when I get around to making the plunge, I'll be spending summers in Maine and winters somewhere, er, warmer. I'm seriously considering renting an RV, maybe a little smaller than the 27' AS that I would like, and trying the lifestyle for a month. Typically, if I can do something for a month, I can do it indefinitely. What do you think?

Good Experience at Colonial

Newbie here too. Love the forums - great information for us as we made our decision of what to buy.
We just purchased our "new to us" 2007 23' Safari SE from Colonial and will be picking it up in about 2 weeks. (So excited...can't wait!)
Did a whole lot of research before we took the plunge and the folks at Colonial are very knowledgeable and professional. People from all over the northeast go there for sales/service.
I like your idea of renting for a month to try it out. Good Luck!

Our first step was to rent a 25' Airstream at a KOA in Bar Harbour Maine for a few days to determine how we liked the camping experience and the Airstream trailer. From that experience we determined we would prefer a 27' Airstream and spent a year looking for one. We finally bought a lightly used 2008 27FB Safari SE we found on Ebay in August 2011 for a very good price versus the comparable new Flying Cloud model. We like our new (to us) Airstream and feel we made a good financial choice going with a three year old lightly used vehicle.

We did visit Colonial, Out of Doors Mart, and Bates to look at used units as well as talk to Sutton, Dandy RV, and Chilhowee by phone. Colonial had the best prices and selection for a new unit. However the depreciation hit the first 2-3 years on Airstreams is tremendous. If you can find a late model one that has been well cared for you will save tens of thousands.
