Newby in North Florida!!
Can't believe we just bought a 1975 31' Airstream Land Yacht!!! Holy fudge! What have I gotten us into?? I honestly can't believe my husband got it home in one piece (sort-of). Well, looks like we're already in love with her, and ready to get to work. I have no clue where to start, but I'm guessing brakes, frame, tires, floor.... I actually cried today, when he "plugged her in" and lights, fans, even the old radio, came on. Whoo-Hoo!! We'll try the plumbing tomorrow:-)))

Very pretty!
I know the feeling of plugging everything and finding what works and doesn't. It's so fun to find those little things that work.
Enjoy your new baby!

From another newby, welcome! We are picking up our '58 Overlander in a few days and hope to have the same happy feeling when we plug in for the first time!

Hey did you buy it down south and take her home on Monday? If so, I saw you trailering her home on 275N near downtown Tampa. Blue Toyota tow vehicle?
Congrats, and welcome to the obsession!!

Sanders in Alachua is an AS dealer if you need any help. Always cheaper to do it yourself but they have been great for me. Welcome to ASing. Jim

Congratulations on your purchase. If you purchased it in FL you won't have to worry about the plumbing having been frozen up. Our '74 31' centre bath had been frozen up.
When I went to tow ours home I remember being excited about the electric jack that worked and tailights that worked as well. Was also amazed when darkness fell on the way home and seeing the tailight monitor in the rear view mirror. Then day 2 when we plugged in was another venture. Somewhere in that time frame we contacted aluminitus and have been suffering with that disease ever since!! It's been 5 years now!!
Should you have any questions - don't be afraid to ask - answers will flow back quickly.
For starters you need to check and make sure there are no water leaks and then check for floor rot. Use a ice pick to check the floor under windows and around the door. Post more pictures as everyone is interested and enjoy in sharing your excitement.
