Hello All,
We are on our first trip out with a new 30' Serenity this weekend, in PA Dutch country. Thanks to
smhx4 who steered us to the 30' rather than the 28' model. We are so far very happy, purchased at Colonial Airstream in NJ. It has been somewhat of an adjustment downsizing from a slide unit, but the difference in quality outweighs it so far. Emptying out a camper is a fact finding mission for sure; everything you pack away is amazing. I've been spending time sorting thru and finding new spots for those essenial items
....
We also had the good luck of one of the a/c units failing on a very hot/heat advisory weekend. Thank goodness for the BR unit that I thought was a super luxury!!
Until very recently, we were in 5th wheel mentality, had a 30' entry level 5th wheel which needed replacement, and a Tundra TV which we did not want to upgrade to a 2500 0r 3500 truck. We were shopping and scheming with the idea of another 5'ver and didn't like what we were seeing in our weight class. Also the fact that our unit was worth less than half of what we paid for it in only 3 years.
So by chance, I happened on the AirForums while on IRV2.com while researching new 5'vers, and here we are, proud new owners, less than a month later. Feeling a little bit like Dorothy and Toto, with so much Airsteam knowledge to be learned. It was a big decision for us since the price tag was so much higher, but reasoned that it would keep us in the same TV/not a diesel for years and that it was our "forever" camper. Time will tell, but so far, even with the bum a/c unit, it seems right.
Happy Trails,
Rose
