Newbies from the Carolinas

We just found our future retirement retreat in the form of a 1960 26' Overlander which needs plenty of TLC. We will be picking 'her' up in two weeks and then the clean-up begins. Nice to know there are so many kindred spirits out there who love and appreciate their Airstreams.
Warmest regards from the McPherson clan: a bespeckled bookworm, a vintage VW bug lover, and last but not least a fat lovable Olde English Bulldog.

Welcome! We are new as well!
Be speckled bookworm I am I am.
We are currently doing some shakedown cruises in our 75 Sovereign. Got it in great shape and late this month off to Canada. The previous owner spent a lot of $ on the guts. To date we have found a few problems but as you stated, as with us it's our retirement project. We have been long time campers and love traveling!
Wish you well from our family to yours!

How has your traveling been going? Sorry I never replied but I'm not sure how to use this message system. We still aren't ready to travel yet but we are a lot closer the first time you heard from me. Have you contacted any other Carolina Airstreamers? If so, where are some good meet up places?

If you watch the Alumalina threads, these are rallies in the Charlotte, NC area.

Mid-March and fall. I think it is September this year.

Lots of nice Airstream folks out your way.

Hey Bookworm and Mtnlvers, we are just down the road from you in York. As Maggie mentioned, the Carolinas has a loose knit but great bunch of streamers rallying under the Alumalina banner. Let me know if you need any info on the local goings on.

Big C, I'm envious of your travels to Canada. Can't wait to make some adventures of our own. Hope to meet up with you at some future gatherings.
