Hi peeps, I(we)have several questions. We are in the infant stage, so don't be shy sharing your opinions and or thoughts.

I have extensive (20) years of off grid or as it seems the AS folks call boondocking, in my 1986 VW Synchro. We are a very active Family , need room for gear….ww kayaks, mountain bikes, sups ext. So initially we were drawn to the EB model for access with gear as well as the overall like of opening the back "hatch".

Questions… Thinking about the 27' EB is that practical for "off the grid camping" or as I refer to as "rogue" camp sites. That's our style.
Also because we are entertaining the Eddie Bauer(what year was it originally offered) we are also thinking about a "custom order" for off the grid applications..i.e. solar panels, batteries, we don't want tvs and or microwaves ect. I usually don't like taking the "new" hit , but it seems if you are going to pay the asking price of AS on the market you may be best served by ordering according to your application.

I'm planning on retiring soon and my wife and our baby(with one more as a possibility) are planning on hitting the road more or less full-time over the next 4 or 5 years. There is also the possibility we would be living in the AS for a fair amount of time in the interim on some property with no power.

Oh and last but not least if we are in the 27 to 30' AS mode I'm thinking of @ least a 2500 and possible 3500 for a towing vehicle as I will be using it @ some point for ranch style living.

Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge and thought with us
