Newbie... to the forum.

I've been in Airstreams for quite a while. Full timed in a '72 27' international and an '83 31' Excella (flooded during Katrina, the DW will never let me forget about that) and now my first new, well new when I purchased it a year ago... '12 25FB International. Big change from the '72 green shag carpet and the 8 Trac. Except for the same ole battery charger that already ate (2) SRM 24s. I've been reading on several post of the battery and charger upgrades y'all have done and it is pointing me the direction I'd like to go with solar and boondocking. Granted, 15 yrs ago when I was a full timer we didn't have the electronic needs we have today..... How I wish those days were here again. To go a day off the grid!

Still a bit shy of drilling holes in the roof for solar panels and 4 ga wire to the FB. Y'all are wearing on me, I'll get there by the time I save some money for the additions. Saw the post that someone put a couple of Trojan T-105s with a slight mod to the height of the tongue battery box.

Enough about y'all, does anyone else miss the sleek fold in steps that tucked away and didn't look like every tail dragger out there that is waiting to rip up some curb or high center on a hill? Man I wish we had pics of what we pulled our '72 international through, around and over. High centered the truck a few times, but with a couple of pneumatics on the tail of the TT we stayed in some amazing places.

Look forward to the knowledge you'll share and project tips and tricks.
