Newbie 'Stream owner

Hi! After much research about airstream discussion sites, this looks like the best I am looking forward to gleaning the knowledge of veteran trailer owners as well as new recruits, like myself. I recently purchased a '69 Trade Wind that is currently in for a tongue-to-bumper checkup. I think the water lines and hot h2o heater had water in them and froze for about three weeks. I am crossing my fingers that not alot of damage occurred. I asked the service guys to do a pressure test on the water and gas lines.

Also, on this model, the kitchen faucet was leaky and I removed it. Upon that manuever, I discovered the wood panel/counter it was installed in is pretty mushy and rotting and I would like to replace the kitchen sink counter. Has anyone tried this and if so, do you have suggestions as I undertake the job? Any help greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on the Trade Wind, I have a '68 myself that I got late last summer. If you like yours half as much as I do mine, you are in for a great time. Any chance you can post some pics of your coach? Maybe we will see one another on the road.

Hi and welcome. We replaced our kitchen counter as have many others. Use the search tool in the upper corner and search "replace counter" or replace sink. One of the advantages of a new counter is that you can put in a different size sink.... go for a single bowl round one and reclaim precious counter space.

On a different note... check in regularly - the Northwest forums crowd goes camping as a group with some regularity - a highly cool group of folks. Look for announcements a little closer to warm weather.

Thanks much for the tip and the invite! A road trip to warmer climes sounds great right about NOW! I am hoping the New Year brings me enough prosperity to allow me to get a rig that will pull my new "baby". Right now I am begging and borrowing rigs to haul it around.

I will check out the other postings for the terms you suggested. THANKS AGAIN!

Since I've been fairly homeless over the last five weeks, I haven't had the wherewithall to track down my camera and get some pix but I will as soon as the silver bullet is back from the doctor. Do you have shots of your '68 posted? Would love to see them: I actually have not had much luck locating many pictures of Trade Wind models in general and absolutely none of a '69.

Folow the link at the bottom of the post and look in the airstream gallery
