Newbie soon I think! Input Greatly Appreciated

With retirement over 2 years away I was not planning on buying now...

But I found a 2008 International CCD in perfect condition for $39,000.

Is this a fair price????????

My online research tells me that it seems reasonable and I do not want to miss out. This will be my first AS and am getting a little cold feet. But, I do not want to lose out on a good deal. I had previously decided that 28' would be best for me and my family of four.

Thanks

What would the same trailer cost new?
That sounds like a good price, but I am no expert.

I think the new ones are in the upper 80's. This particular one I'm looking at had an MSRP of $73,000.

That seems reasonable. Check it very closely for any signs of leaking. Look around the edge of the floor for any discoloration (purplish) under the floor covering. If the trailer is a FB, the area around the back end is where it might be first noticed.

It might not hurt to find an experienced Airstreamer in your area to help with the inspection. If needed, you could write a contract subject to the inspection.

You didn't mention the length of the unit... a 30 footer is too good to be true, a 25 - is a darn good price.

Use caution - make sure it's legitimately titled, not stolen - and that it hasn't been wrecked with a salvage title.

Go for it if it's legit. You don't have to be retired to camp. I'll bet there are a dozen good places to go within a 50 mile radius of your home.

We have a 22' 2007 International CCD.

Check it out carefully for leaks and operational condition. We love ours. It was bought about 4 years ago, used, for about $41K--YMMV

28' International CCD

I forgot to mention in my original post that the AS International CCD is a 28'!!
That obviously makes a huge difference in pricing input from members. See, told you I was a NEWBIE.
