Newbie - Long Island NY

My wife and I have been looking to get a camper for the past several years, and during our last tent camping trip to Montauk, NY, we deceided that it was time to move to a camper. We went down to Colonial, and they could not have been nicer and more helpful. We are now the proud new owners of a 27 FB International Serenity. I am hoping to have everything in order so I can get my new A/S by the end of the month. Where I live in NY, I am not allowed to keep anything but a car in the drive way, so that is one of many issues that I need to work out. Just by reading some of the threads, I know that I am going to need some help once my A/S showes up.

I look forward to hearing from all of the A/S espically the local ones.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums, Chris and Maureen. We're glad to have you with us. You have found the right place for all the help you will need to use and enjoy your Airstream. Congratulations on your new Airstream. The 27FB is a great floor plan. We have a 25FB that we have used extensively (990 nights/90,000 miles) and have not tired of the arrangement.

Take the time between now and delivery of your new baby to review some of the threads here on the Forums, and ask any questions that you may have. There is wealth of information here at your disposal.

Welcome!! Congrats on your new Airstream! How cool is that?! There are Airstream clubs in NY to join. It's so fun to camp with other Airstream owners. There's a lot of camaraderie! Or just going with family is wonderful. I hope to visit my daughter in Queens this June so maybe we can meet for up somewhere. I'll keep you guys posted. Until then, have a blast!!

Welcome! We're in NYS, but not very close to you. Nonetheless if we can help, just holler.

I was finally able to pick up our baby. After months of planning, prepping and excitement I made the trip to Colonial to. Bring her home. Pat and Lauren were great during the orientation. The drive home was a little nerve racking, especially on the Cross Bronx. But know it like we have always had her.

We picked up our new Airstream on Monday of last week. Everybody at Colonial is incredibly helpful. Congratulations on the new home! Now you just have to use it. Have fun!
Bruce, Dorsey, Mattie and Pepper, and now introducing Lulu our 16' Serenity.
Sent from Scusset Beach reservation.
p.s. Lulu is the hit of the few campers here this weekend! Everybody wants to know about her!

Great looking Airstream, Congratulations! Given some experience, the towing will come as second nature. Safe and enjoyable towing does have a learning curve, but it's not launching rockets. Enjoy your Airstream and the freedom that it will give you.

yes, the right and left lanes are for hovercrafts only! i suppose someday they'll fix those sunken sewer covers. it is just hard to get in the center because traffic is so polite ;-)

Hi everyone! Since you're talking NY, I'm towing my Airstream to the Queens area around June 3rd or 4th this summer. I'm going to go visit my daughter who lives on Ditmars bv, near the river. I'm traveling from Jackson Center, Ohio. Any tips for me on best routes, what to avoid, weather concerns or places to park my 16' Bambi, etc???? Thanks so much!!!

i don't know about the route but parking will likely be an issue. i suggest you start a new thread so more people will notice the request for info
