you will likely come east on rt 80 to the GW bridge, X bronx then the Throgs neck (avoid the Whitestone bridge I think)

Do not hit the x bronx after 3Pm thru 8Pm, it's a parking lot.

Ditmars is very city if you catch my drift as the people your staying with if you can park where they live and if it will be safe,

We just bought an Airstream in New Mexico and brought it back to Long Island. It was quite an adventure but we learned a lot about our new baby along the way.

Good luck with your new trailer.

We drove there in two days, 2,145 miles. We took more time coming back but it's a bad time of year to go camping, most campgrounds aren't open yet. We got home in six days stopping at a few State campgrounds along the way. We now feel confident that we can go just about anywhere if we have the time.

Got a name yet?

Would get the same model ,, but farming does not always pay well or not at all..

Good luck,, and enjoy every minute..

Still cant embrace the fact that "laws" cant park it on your own land,, Here in west Kansas there would be gun fire going on if someone came up with a law like that around here.

Congratulations on your new 27' beauty. We're in the market for the Serenity 30' and have the same issues. We can't park it in our driveway due to our HOA. Urrrrr. So, I've been looking for storage in Denver. Please post some pics. I just love the Serenity. Safe travels and welcome!!

She's beautiful! Are you camping? Pretty area, I don't see skies that blue around here. Have fun!

I was wondering if you folks in the long Island or NY City area would like to join us at one of our rallies at Metro NY Airstream club.

Or if you would like info about us.

Congrats on your new baby and welcome! Like you, we are on Long Island....except we are on the other end, in Wainscott, just a few miles from Hither Woods. And like you we bought our 2006 20' Safari from Colonial (used) right about this time two summers ago.

Colonial was great and indeed I'll never forget that harrowing first pull home! We did the BQE while under construction. Merging to one lane damn near scared me to death.

Since then however we've pulled it roughly 10,000 miles. We'll be full timing it beginning in a few weeks until Labor Day as we rent out house out here for the summer season.

Hither Woods can be impossible to get into and they don't allow pets so we don't camp there much. We prefer Cedar Point in East Hampton and Gin Beach (where you can tow right onto the beach) in Montauk.

Good luck with everything. I can't tell you how incredibly valuable these forums have been to us as we continually "learn the ropes."

We'll look for you out this way.
