Newbie-long distance purchase

A few years back before I retired I enjoyed using this forum to learn about some of the possibilities for a retiree RV lifestyle. Now that I have actually retired I'm looking seriously at for-sale ads for Airstream trailers. One that especially caught my attention centers on a trailer located in Wichita, Kansas, which is about 800 miles away from where I am in Cincinnati, Ohio. One of my foggy recollections (there are reasons when people realize they're ready for retirement) was that there existed good-hearted forum members in various locations who would volunteer to do a preliminary check-out on a prospective long distance purchase. Might there be any members around Wichita who would be so kind as to do a quick look-see on a local trailer currently offered for sale?

Hi there! And welcome! You can go here

http://www.airforums.com/forums/memb....php?do=search

And check the "trailer inspector" box and do a search where the trailer is. You can them message the folks directly in case they miss your post.

Good luck!

I have purchased two from long distance (Albuquerque and East Texas) and sold one to a new friend in Ohio. I live in Eastern VA. So it is possible. It helps to deal with Forum members as that is an introduction in itself.

Could someone who has used the Inspectors give a post about how that worked out for them? I'm interested in an AS in VA (south of Roanoke). I've got the list of VA Inspectors.
Thanks!
