Newbie Intro

Hello. My Name is Larry and my wife is Andria. I bought an 82 34' Excella about a week ago. As I have seen written in other posts, I don't know enough yet to be afraid. We have a few projects to complete, but look forward to spending some time in our new toy. I am a truck driver and don't get a ton of time off, but I look forward to changing that.Click image for larger version

Welcome to the forums.

In the photo above, it looks like your truck is nose high because of no weight distribution hitch. Lots of discussion on the type and brands of that equipment. You may wish to address that nose high attitude for drivability issues.

I started with a Hensley Arrow and moved to the second generation Jim Hensley design called the Pro Pride for the second trailer. I was pleased with the handling of the first Hensley, but appreciate the improvements in the second design.

I have the weight distribution hitch all set up now thanks to the forum. That pic was from the journey home.

Welcome to the forums.
You bought "The Long, Long Trailer"!
I love the 34 footers.
I bet it still towed great with zero weight distribution- straight as an arrow-

What a beauty! My 31' tracks perfectly, I can only imagine how nice it must be to pull a 34'. Get out and go camping! You will be surprised at the "smiles per mile" factor...

Hello LRay. Nice looking Excella you found. We have a 86 34 footer and enjoy traveling in it. They are nice, nice trailers. Like you will, we have completed all kinds of "projects" on our 86. We have had it almost 10 years. I hope you will enjoy working on it as much as traveling with it.

You'll find all kinds of helpful folks on these Air Forums. I've received much of help and now try to answer someone's questions if I can. I'm not nearly experienced as others in this Airstream community.

Happy travels,

David
