Newbie in Texas

Thought I'd stop in and say "hi" to everyone from Central Texas.

I've been lurking around for the past few weeks and reading up with what time I have available. Looking to get back into camping now that my daughter is old enough to enjoy it.

I recently missed an opportunity to buy an Airstream 25' locally and have been kicking myself HARD since.

Back to the search.

Do you have a specific age (era) in mind? How much are you willing to spend? How far are you willing to travel to look at a perspective purchase? Are you dead set on an Airstream? Would you consider an Argosy?

Their are members of this forum that will inspect an Airstream that you find online, all you have to do is ask & pay any expenses involved as its a free service.

We used to have a pop-up and now I want to "step-up" *badum-dum*

Originally I wanted a vintage Safari that I could clean up and take almost anywhere in style.

Then I remembered that I was married with a daughter--they want more room than the Safari could provide. I spent much time and deliberation with the spouse figuring exactly what we would like.

As much as I think vintage would be great, wife reminded me that last time I bought something with the intention of "fixing-it-up" I spent more time fixing it than actually enjoying it--so recent model would be better.
I want double axle for safety.
As much as I'd like a rear bath, a mid-bath with a room in the rear would probably work best.
I have a Land Cruiser with 8K towing ability, but don't want to get into anything bigger than 29 foot.
Don't want anything shorter than 22 foot.

The one I missed out on was a mid-80's 27 foot Soverign in great shape at a good price.

In the next year I envision at least 2 trips and the possibility of (just) me living out of it for a month or so if I have to take a new job while my wife and daughter stay local so the little one can finish out the school year.

Funny how quickly things can change.

We were in the market for a trailer, but suddenly finances and lifestyle changed and we were out of the market. No sooner than we accepted that we weren't going to look for a trailer anytime soon, circumstances changed again and here I am.

A friend has her parent's RV at a great price that I've considered, but I want a trailer, not a diesel pusher.
SO..... I'm still keeping an eye out for 22-25 ft, late-90's or better in good shape at a great price.

We were just up in Fredericksburg sampling at the wineries.

Just titled the trailer yesterday. Dropped off the couch for reupholster, too.

Cleaning up the trailer over the next few days. I plan on putting on the new TV antenna this week. The converter needs replaced, so I'll have to look into this tonight if I want to replace it over the weekend.

Maybe we'll be able to get the trailer out before it gets too cold.
