Hello from another Okie and AS newbie. We are currently living in Ardmore but I am orig. from OKC and we lived in Edmond and have sons in Edmond. We bought our '88 Excella in June and have been slowly (due to the heat!) redoing the interior with paint, new bath sink and faucet, kitchen sink and backsplash and have replaced the AC, a vent fan, taillights, recaulked around, and other misc. stuff. Our gaucho is at the upholstry shop and I will also be getting started on curtains soon. We can't wait to go on our first trip in Sept., then we are going to the AIR-Midwest fall rally in Branson in October. Can't wait for cooler weather as I'm sure all of you are feeling the same! We are learning a lot from the forums and loving all the knowledge we have picked up on these forums...a lot of great people! We would definitely be up for an Okie meet in the future. Talk again soon!
Debi

Wait, are you the same Brian that we met at Stone River in Chandler, OK? You traded the Globetrotter for an Overlander now? If so, Eric and I were just talking about you and wishing we had taken pics of your bathroom renovation, we are working on ours right now and have questions!!

Have any of my fellow Oklahomans had to replace an axle? We are thinking it's time to do ours...but is there any source "locally"? I'm terrified of what the shipping will be on one straight from Axix in Indiana or Inland RV out in CA.

Thanks in advance

Griffith Rv Services in OKC can handle most repair situations. Check out their website and give them a call. They are highly recommended by many in OK and Ks. Good luck.

I went to Griffith for hail damage and they did a great job! He's been around Airstreams his whole life.

We just replaced the axle on our '66 Safari. Shipping cost from Elkhart, Indiana to us in Ft. Worth, TX was $250.00.

Thanks y'all, I've dealt with Tom before and heard he does great work. However, we are confident that we can install the axle ourselves...its just a matter of where to purchase one.

So it came from Axis? do you have a link? I was having a hard time finding a current website for them.
