Newbie from Oklahoma

We just got back from our maiden voyage in our new to us 2009 23d International. What a nice trailer. Now I truly appreciate what all the hype is about. This is such a well made and designed trailer. My wife and our 11 yr old went on this trip. We are hooked!

Sorry about the tilted photo!

Welcome from a former Okie!

I used to live in Altus, went to college in Stillwater, and had an uncle who was a baseball coach (not the head coach) at the University of Central Oklahoma there in Edmond.

But work took me away from the state half a lifetime ago. I keep thinking that I'd like to return for a camping trip in my Airstream someday, instead of just visiting my few surviving relatives, so I too would be interested in knowing where you went for your inaugural trip.

We went to the Wichita Moutain Wildlife Refuge. We live in Edmond. Plan on exploring NWOklahoma soon. Any recommendations are welcome! This area was near Medicine Park OK, very nice little town with good eats, lots of fishing and hiking nearby.

You've been to the southwestern part of the state, home of miles and miles of… miles and miles.

When I finally return to Oklahoma for some camping, I'm planning to visit eastern Oklahoma, possibly around Lake Carl Blackwell (owned by OSU, my alma mater), Keystone Lake, or Grand Lake of the Cherokees.

Unfortunately I know next to nothing about northwest Oklahoma, and what little I do know is from 35 years ago, so I can't really give any recommendations.

But this link to the Oklahoma State Parks website might help:
