Hello everyone,Just want to introduce myself as a happy new owner of a '69 Safari (23'). This is my first Airstream so I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I become acquainted with this wonderful world of A/S'rs.
Welcome. I'm a newbie here myself but have been remodeling AS since 1999. Which brings me to a remark--I am totally unhappy with the survey regarding how long members have owned their AS. 75% have owned them less than 3 years! Ack!
No wonder I don't see nearly as many along the roads as I did just 5 years ago. They are being snapped up by individuals and some enterprising dealers and they are just like dirt--not making any more (you can infer from this I only look for vintage AS). I really hope I can find a two-axle 22' AS one of these days. I had a lock on one just outside Zion Park a couple years ago, but suddenly it was gone and replaced by a SOB, despite all the notes I had left at the house and trailer.
The nifty thing about this forum is that after seeing what the really talented people are doing to save the older AS, it has widened my range of acceptable trailer condition! I think I'll go back and look a few that I passed on in the last year.
Roger

Welcome to the forums. I am sure you will find lots of help and maybe even a few smiles around here. Florida has some great camping we made our maiden voyage down that way and loved every night.
Daisy, assuming your trailer is roadworthy, you can take it to the far South end of Lake Okechobee to the Palm Beach County RV campground there, in Palm Bay. They have 30/50 amp electric, city water, dump station, rec hall, and cable TV. Pretty reasonable price, too, and not that far away from you.
See you on the road!
You've found the right place!
A great bunch of helpfull people.
Question: where did you find your coach?
The better you look, the more you see.
Michael
I found it in Palm Beach. I have been looking for months, and found this one close to home. A gentleman had this one, plus an Avion, and a Spartan. He just sold a Bambi (which is what I was really looking for for its size and easier to tow). But I'm slap happy about my Safari. It's in its original condition (except for the fridge).

Thanks for the info. The trailer is actually going to stay in Melbourne Beach (where my son is) so I can go back and forth from Miami. Palm Bay is the city just south of Melbourne.
