Newbie from Illinois.

Hey ASers,

I'm Joe. Completely the new guy here although i have been lurking on and off for two years. I dont currently own an Airstream but cant see how to avoid owning one in my future. I love camping and the outdoors but Im getting older (47) and my body cant take tent camping any longer. I spent a lot of my four years in the military out in the field as well. My girlfriend of two years, Im a widower of about four years, tells me she loves camping but i have yet to see it. My two kids love to go camping too. We generally stick to national and state parks and boy scout camps right now.

Ill be posting some questions soon as i try to plan things out.

Hi, Joe! There is an AS dealer in Joliet. Not to buy new, necessarily, but to look at new units to get a feel for what would suit you. Then, with that info, look at the used units, to see what is out there, what the prices are, and, if they fit the feel. If you are more downstate, there is Bill Thomas RV in Wentzville, MO, west of St Louis on I 70. He carries a fair used inventory, in addition to new. Just take your time, and let the sales staff know you aren't ready to buy, you are doing homework. You will find your Airstream.
