Newbie Argosy Owner! Let's get it on!
Hello to all in the Argosy/Airstream world From Lynnwood, WA.
I just bought a 1977 24' argosy motorhome. It needs much, but the engine and drive train are great. Currently i really need an owners manual and a service manual. In the process of stripping all the paint in preparation for a paint job eventually. Was going to try to polish the aluminum but the mixture of galvanized steel and aluminum has changed my mind. Anyway I really need a door gasket to at least seal the entry way. Also I would like to know what model this moho is. It has 4 windows on the driver's side. 1 is partially covered by the fridge/ mirowave tower, 1 is obscured by the front bath/shower. On the passenger side 1 is covered by the rear bedroom closet. Is this normal? Why have a window then obscure from the inside with structures? Here are a few pics.
Hope to get lots of help from this community, I will sure need it.
Cheers
Keith

Congrats!!!
Weird to see the "bus like" thing on the roof, but very cool that you can put custom messages up there.

It looks like yours was originally built as a shuttle bus. They were designed to transport people from airports to hotels and car rentals. Someone has turned it into a Motor Home by adding all the items that were not originally built in. That's why the windows are blocked by the interior items.

I agree with Richard on the bus conversion. I have 1977 28' Argosy MH.I have a owners manual if you have some questions I might be able to help you out. But with it being a conversion I'm not sure.

I know the speed-o-meter cable is broken at the transmission connect. Any idea where to get one? I thank everyone for the responses. The shuttle bus conversion makes sense as the walls and trim all look to be done with a non-professional touch (lots of gaps). All and all not a bad job but I might be replacing all the interior walls some day. That will be after getting all the electrical up to snuff.
Also any sources about acquiring a wiring diagram or owners/service manual would be greatly appreciated!

Yours definately appears to be a shuttle conversion. Check out this one:

Best of Luck,

12 volt exterior 77 Argosy mh
Let's see how this looks.I don't know if you can use this. There is an Airstream site that has specs for the older models it might have what you are looking for. Its in the threads.

Hello Keith,
Welcome to the forums. Nice rig, I like the look. I just got my first AS motorhome about six months ago and dived right in. I rewired the entire coach electrical, everything automotive was in great shape, tore everything out of the interior and began my renovation. Granted, I wasn't able to find a suitable classic model so ended up with a 93 fiberglass model, but the Airstream style is still there and the quality is right on par...
I'm convinced my renovation won't end until I get another AS to begin anew.
Have fun fixing your baby up and making it your own. Live the Dream!
