Newbie Airstreamer and project LOL

Just picked up a 1970 Ambassador. I love it and its a basket case.. I'm a cabinet maker by trade and restoring cars and mechanics are my hobby. I've attached some pics she needs work. Total body off starting this winter. Working on the tow vehicle now.. Any body else out there in central Ohio that's done a complete body off? I'm always open to better ways.

Congrats! Looks nice though I'm sure your "basket case" assessment is more accurate there live :-)

How close are you to Jackson City, OH?? There might be a few folks there who could help you figure some stuff out :-)

Dublin, OH

Welcome, fellow Ohioan! We are up sw of Cleveland. We have some very dear Airstreaming friends who live in Dublin. Screen name is tbaugh. They are off having fun in their Airstream. We will be joining them in Dublin later in the fall. They have a fairly new AS, but Terry is a great handyman and woodworker.
You many want to check out the Ohio threads located at: Ohio Airstreamers - Informal forum for weekend camping - Page 6 - Airstream Forums

We usually post where we are headed for the weekend...and note rallies that we are attending. We have a pretty active bunch.
And if you are interested in WBCCI you can find out more information about our group at: www.campnova.com

Again, welcome! We hope you will join us sometime.

It just so happens I live in Dublin. I will be starting this in the fall. So plenty of time to research.

..and you are in the right place to get questions answered as you get deep into this big project. Looks like it has fine bone structure.

The front and back frame needs addressed and also around the entry door. that area is gone. but i can weld and with my connections from the cabinet industry i can get metal fab done very easily. so i cant wait to finish my truck this summer and tear into this its going to be fun.

Welcome, looks like a beauty. I will be in Dublin for the Irish Festival, staying at Alum Creek. I hope to squeeze in a factory tour too.
