Newbie!

Hey, yall!

I'm brand new here. I've recently purchased a partially gutted 1959 Airstream Ambassador (I just found that out 5 minutes ago from the super helpful threads on this site!)
I am not restoring it to original (I'm hoping this doesn't devastate everyone!) but am turning it into a mobile salon.
I've already put loads of hours into sanding the interior back to aluminum and, actually, just shop vacuumed the floor from allllllllll the dust!

I'm so happy to be here and grateful for all the knowledge and wisdom. I'm absolutely going to need it!

Vintage Airstreams make great mobile business sites. There is an outfit here in Colorado that builds them to suit the customer. It will be a lot of work. I believe it will pay off for you.

I nearly purchased a 59 Overlander 26' some years ago. See photo below. It had a single axle instead of the optional dual axles, so I passed on it. I believe your Ambassador is a 28' trailer, one size up from the Overlander.

I bet folks here will be helpful in your project. Start a thread in the Knowledge Base section under 59 Ambassador and "blog" the project as you proceed.

David
