Hey! I'm Dirk or you can call me Phat D(Thats my trail name). I'm a school teacher and enjoy almost everything outdoors including hiking, camping, hunting, and motorcycling. Now I have the urge to throw trailer camping into the mix. For some reason, I'm drawn to it. I totally dig the Airstream. Maybe I should start out with something else? this would be my first trailer. Opinions are welcome. I have a Dodge Durango 6 cylinder to pull with but would consider getting something bigger. I just discovered the Eddie Bower Edition. Can you put a motorcycle in one of those. So many questions.Exploring my options.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to AirForums. Airstream trailers are special and unique. Like all things, they have advantages and disadvantages.

Your six cylinder pick up is marginal for a conventional camping trailer of any size. I assume it has a towing package. Check the towing specs of your year pick up so you know what you can safely tow.

Trailer camping is more comfortable than tent camping. Many folks use their trailers as "base camps" while exploring and recreating in an area. And they are a little more bear proof than a tent.

Airstream doesn't make a toy hauler per say that I know about. My neighbor just purchased a small toy hauler for his Harley. He will tow it with his six cylinder pick up. He is tired of tent camping. So someone makes what you dream about.

Welcome to AirForums, Phat D!

You can haul a motorcycle or a quad in the older Airstream Basecamp travel trailer, model years 2007 through 2009!

See AirForums' thread Fans of the Airstream Basecamp and a walk-through of the 2007 Airstream Basecamp (16' Toy Hauler Bambi Size) in the video below:

Well there you go. Learn something new everyday. I see Airstream is trying the base camp again. I did not know it was toy hauling capable.
