Newbe from Canada - help

Hi - I have just purchased my first airstream (for 2 bucks from my uncle)
I saved this old girl from a life of sitting in his field and only being used once a year. He told me it was a 1967 25' overlander. I think he may be wrong as I have been looking at posts from other owners. Any help with letting me know exactly what I have would be great. The SIN# on my airstream is
SI 2656515. Thanks

How about some pictures?

The VIN points to a 65 overlander although the sequential serial number is more along the lines of a 64 (4 digits)

here's a break down:

SI 26 5 6515

S = California
I = International trim package
26 = length
5 = model year (1965)
6515 = sequential serial number

There are several clues that will differentiate the model year of your Overlander:
  • A 1964 Overlander will have stacked jalousie windows beside the entry door.
  • A 1964 Overlander will have a door-within-a-door.
  • A 1964 Overlander will have Bargman 99 "Wedding Cake" tail lights.
  • A 1965 Overlander will have a one-piece door with a separate "interior" screen door.
  • A 1965 Overlander will have a large single-pane window over a smaller window beside the door.
  • A 1965 Overlander will have smaller round tail lights in an aluminum housing.
1965 Overlander:

1964 Overlander:

Good luck with your Overlander!

Hi Gingerbeef
I am one lucky lady to get her sooo cheap.
I actually picked her up from Alberta - now she is back in the
mountains in BC.

Hi GingerBeef

Looks like we're neighbours (St Albert AB). Like you we've just joined. Bought a 1977 Argosy Six Metre Minuet (20 ft) in June (as well, for considerably more than $2). Ours was restored/customized by the previous owner in bright white with metallic blue trim to match his 1956 Pontiac t/v - we love how it looks! Decided to christen it the Blue Plate Special. Haven't had the trailer on the road yet, but itching to get out there.

Cheers,
Will
