If you would prefer, I can change the title of this thread for you. If you want to do this, let me know what you would like the title to be.

Good call. Will do.

And good luck with your project.

PS -- On your question of where to post about the renovation work, I might suggest this 1974-1979 Sovereign sub-forum:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f221/

At the top left is a button for "New Thread" but be careful with the title of the thread because you cannot go back and correct typos, like you can edit the posts for 10 minutes.

There are also lots of Repair sub-forums, so maybe this general list of topics would be a good place to pick a specific sub-forum:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f3/
Awesome Thanks! I'll get on that in the next hour

If they were to become interested in participating as they get older, it could become a good family-centered activity. Or it could take valuable time away from them if they proved not to be interested. (If there's one thing I learned thoroughly about parenthood, it's that one cannot force a child to like any particular activity even though logically it seems like they SHOULD like it at least to some extent, given its context within the family).

I was a single Mom for seven years and I would never have tackled such a project during that period of my life -- and I'm irrationally ambitious. As it was, to have a full-time job, almost full-time childcare duties, and high domestic and personal standards (such as refusing to skimp on my own physical fitness and refusing processed foods - I cooked nearly 100% of our meals)... doing the work of two parents by itself meant routinely putting in 16-hour days. There simply wasn't time for anything else.
Kudos to you for getting through it.
I meal prep and most definitely a health nut. Definitely didn't go looking for this while single lol kinda had it dumped on me in the divorce. Lookng story... so... since the money has already been put into it, I would rather figure it out asap. Maybe I'll keep it, maybe I'll sell it whrn I'm done... one step at a time... mom's have the hardest job in the world and don't get enough credit...

I hesitated to second IB's thoughts here, so as not to be jumping to rain on your parade and enthusiasm, but you have accepted hers so I do second them.

I was also a young single mom of two, an infant and a 4 year old...and knowing the time demands of that level of child care, plus a full time job, it is really difficult to fathom you rehabbing an old motorhome by yourself in and amongst that.

You may have this all figured out, and have help with the kids nearby...maybe the dad will have regular visitation, giving you some weekends free...but please proceed carefully, as you are really going to have your hands full.

Posting publicly here is a double edged sword....you get lots of information and help, also perspectives you may not be seeking.

We will tell you what we think, that we will do, and also cheer you on.

Be thoughtful, be aware of where your time and attention is going...and good luck!

Maggie

Correction --

When I recommended where to start a new thread in Post #22 , I was mistaken on the unit you have. Here is the Land Yacht etc. thread in the motor home area of this site:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f312/

This would be one logical place to post.

Sorry for the error and good luck!

Peter

Finding our AS

Halloween of 2015... before we could even hook her up we had to take out as much of the trash as we could and anything that would easily tear out, pump the tires and jump the battery

You have found a great resource here. Airstreamers are always happy to lend a hand --
even to the flakier types.

Heck...just read some of my threads!

Yes, I will move along. Hope you get that Airstream up and moving someday too.

Over the course of 2015's winter... gutted it completely, replaced a good amount of the sub floor, replaced some of and completely beefed up the frame...
