Two things to do to start.

1. Make super sure that the trailer is weather proof. Check all the gaskets, especially the sewer vent pipe cover gaskets, that only last 2 to 3 years.

2. Next big project, that if you find necessary, will encourage you to save some money for the expense of a couple of axles. Check them out. If original, most likely the rubber rods are history. But, if the trailer will noy go on the road, then bad axles is OK.

Welcome to the Forums. Before you dive into flooring, check the sub floor (plywood) itself. All, if not virtually all Airstream's of your vintage have some degree of structural floor rot. Use a sharp screwdriver or ice pick & poke the edges of the floor all of the way around, just inside the wall area. You're likely to find "issues" at the rear, below hatches & doors. This is critical to the longevity of your trailer. This must be addressed before spending time & $ on flooring (floor covering). There are numerous threads here & we've talked about it on thevap (the Vintage Airstream Podcast) many times over the years.
Good luck with your project.
