New To Us 1969 Overlander

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a long time hiker/camper and have always loved Airstreams. We currently have a 19' hybrid and will keep it until our newest toy is ready to roll. I found this one 5 hours away and dragged it home. My wife and two kids (6 & 8 years old) are excited to build it. Currently we spend 30-40 nights out a year and hope to extend that even further with the Overlander.

It certainly needs work....as in a frame off resto.

Everything looks solid but we'll see once the shell is off.

I look forward to posting my progress and contributing anything I can.

Welcome aboard. Looks like lots of the deconstruction is already done. Do you have any of the interior skins and pieces? Is it missing the front wing windows?

It came with all the skins and fibreglass. It started life as a rear bath and the PO cut that in half. We want to use the back for kiddie bunk beds so I'll probably reuse it to some extent. All the glass is intact except for the mid curb side. I put the cardboard on the wing windows to avoid stone chips on the trip home.

Here's how it looked through the front window when I got it home. Click image for larger version

Looks like the aftermath of a frat party. Sorry typing with a dog on my lap thunderstorm out and he does not like them at all!

Welcome to the forums! That looks like a fun if not time consuming project. Look forward to seeing your progress and updates. Good luck.
