New to this
Hello,
My husband and I are totally new to this but hopefully we have reached the best place to help us on our dream-fulfillment-mission!
We are looking to find an Airstream to reside in and need all the help we can get.
We're absolute beginners!

Howdy and welcome to airforums.com, BritishBecky & spouse! You came to the right place for any information you may need.
Be sure to keep an eye on our Classifieds section, there are always some fine trailers there, and lately they seem to be moving quickly!
All the best luck with your search.

Thank you very much indeed.
We are currently looking for an Airstream that is "ready-to-go" but we are leaning heavily towards an older model.
Such a warm welcome, we feel at home already.
Will be checking on the classifieds frequently.

Those two ideas are not mutually exclusive, BB.
Some of the older trailers I see on our Classifieds are done up to the nines (as my mum used to say), but of course, they are priced accordingly.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle
Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. You've found the right place for all things Airstream. If you have any questions, just ask.

My wife and I were in your position just over a year ago. What a journey we've been on already. My advice is to read, read, read and ask questions. This forum is absolutely excellent and the folks are very helpful. We spent a couple months in the SW this winter and everything went very well thanks to our preparation and the excellent advice we received on these forums. We've not got our house up for sale (come on, we need more showings!) in preparation for hitting the road a lot more of the time. This "spring" we're having in MN has reinforced this decision that much more.
Good luck on your journey!

BB: Good luck. We started a mere year ago, with negative knowledge of RVs or Airstreams and have been inching our way towards knowing something. There is an incredible amount of info here on the forums but it can get overwhelming and sometimes hard to find again when you need it. The search function often finds you great stuff, but somehow really great stuff we've stumbled upon has been hard to find again. What we did was when we found info we needed to read a few times to understand, or that we thougt we'd refer to again, was that we reformatted the threads to printable versions and pasted what we wanted to refer back to into Word documents and saved them topically on our laptop. Good luck.

Welcome from Virginia
BB and carbon based spousal unit: Welcome from a Virginia couple in the Blue Ridge. Linda and I went through your experience over the past year. As many have said, THIS is the PLACE to get good, practical advice. We searched the classified on this forum and at RVtrader, looking for a ready to roll older unit. We found it in March. I am writing to you from the front couch as we camp in Jackson Center's Terraport. Our appointment for some minor work by the AS pros starts in about 10 minutes.
We are just finishing our first road trip with The Silver Otter. What A Life!
