New to the Stream

We are new and proud owners of a 1967 17 ft Airstream. My wife and I are both drawn to all things classic and well designed. Naturally this eventually led us to our Airstream. We have had an Airstream mechanic test the electric, plumbing and propane systems and have had it polished. Our plan is to stay true to the original design and layout but add electronics that will make it more appealing to our kids. Oh yeah, we also need to learn how to pump out the head and hook up the water at a park.
Next step: tires & wheels and electronics (TV,Stereo and X Box).
We have learned much from this site already and are glad to now be "in the stream"

Well welcome in! You are in luck. As you already know there are lots of folks here who know every trick and all the trade to keep that vintage rig on the road and you having fun. Never hesitiate to ask a question. Here's the easist way to learn how to do all those things an owner needs to know for the proper care and feeding of an Airstream....Come to a Forum Rally. Yep thats it. A lot of knowledge is at those rallys and there isn't a thing folks won't help with or teach you. You also get to camp with fun folks. The next one is in 29 Palms in Jan. (Check the rally calendar.) and thats less than three hours from you. One last thing....We love pictures of Airstreams!! Would you post a few of your trailer?Hope to see you in 29 Palms.

Thumbs up Wow!

I'm new, sort of, too. I've been reading about the renovation efforts of others and am impressed! Good luck with yours and keep us posted on your progress!

Welcome J5

Congrats on your new purchase. The fun is about to begin. I agree with Goin Camping. You should join us in 29 Palms.
