New to the forum

Hello to everyone, we have been camping for a long time now and pulling trailers for about 12 years. We currently have a Komfort with a slide out.
I am going to do some research on this site because some day we want to own a Airstream trailer.
They look so stable to tow and spend time in. Question:

Are they well insolated? Can you hear the rain? The one thing I see that would be a draw back is when we dry camp. It seems that the holding tanks are small, depending on model. Our Komfort has a 50 gallon fresh water tank and 2, 45 gallon grey and black tanks. What are some thoughts regarding boondocking?

I hope to some day own one regardless of this though.

Thanks everyone

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

We have 25FB and love the lay-out. All three of our tanks are about 40 gals.

Welcome to the forum, Subfan...this is sure the right place to research Airstreams...lots of info and friendly folks to answer whatever questions you might have.

The smaller ASs have smaller fresh water and holding tanks capacities, of course, and the 16' Bambi has a common black+grey water tank, rather than separate ones, and I should point out that early ASs didn't have black water holding tanks...(I don't know for sure when they became standard...I'm sure that's dicussed here somewhere)...

The rain...oh yes, you can hear the rain pitter-patting away. It's rather nice.

Good luck with your research!
