new to site

Hi Just joined. we are going to make an offer today. it is a 1977 24ft Argosy.
have owned motor-homes in the past and since the gas prices are CRAZY we didn't go far last season. sold that and have always wanted an AS. but have a beer budget vs champagne budget.
i did noticed that it will need a new door. any direction or help would be gratefully appreciated.
looking forward to being part of this forum
thanks
Kathy

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

We're heading to Greenville, Maine in about 2 weeks to camp around Moosehead Lake.

Kathy,

I'm no expert on Argosy's, but I may have an "extruded" door from an Overlander (courtesy of Bedfords) that I can't use. I don't know if they are interchangeable. Early 70s Airstreams had a "cast" door frame and the curve at the upper corners was quite different.

What's wrong with the door? If the door ribs are cracked, that can be fixed. If it's skin, that's even easier.

If you can get an expert to check yours and see if there's a chance this would fit, I'd be happy to see if the door really is available.

Zep

Thanks for replying, I hope your heater works!!!! still have snow in my yard and I am only 90 mile north of Boston. so excited about our purchase. after reading some of the forums i think we can pull it together. needs mostly cosmetic work. we figured I will redo the inside and he will redo outside. it was such a deal. we are going to offer $750. he wants it gone and it was owned by the seller and his father before. we looked at other vintage campers and this 1 was outstanding. like I said always wanted an AS but could not afford 1 at this time
safe travels and watch out for the moose
