new to list & new to Airstreams

Hi,

My wife and I just bought our first Airstream--a 1998 25' Safari. It's in pretty good shape but didn't come with instructions for the appliances, etc. , so it's kind of like being in another culture without knowing the language. Anyone know where we can get more information on what we have and how to use it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

There is a learning curve, but we're not launching rockets, either. Ask questions here, go out and camp, and you will get the drill pretty quickly.

It's nice to know there's another '98 safari newbee out there. We got ours a year ago and are still learning about AS. I agree this is the best place in the world to get info. Good luck and happy camping! We pick up our 'Big Bertha' for her first outing of the year for the May 15-18 holiday weekend.

They don't specifically have '98 info, you can download a '99 which would be virtually identical to the owner's manual for the '98s.

Though it won't have accessory info like fridge, furnace, etc, it will give you at least the basics. If you'd like more info on the individual accessories in the trailer, you can try the Airstream Customer Service contact or the manufacturer of the individual accessory.

Here are some links you might find useful:

For fridge and in most cases A/C:

For water heater and furnace:

Happy travels.

Welcome and congrats on your new Airstream . I like that Moosetags said we aren't launching rockets. My hubby and I are currently searching and have nightmares about looking like Robin Williams in RV at the dump station. Share your adventures and pics of the new rig if you get a chance!

Happy Camping.
