New To Forum and Airstream Restoration

Hello. My wife Pam and I live in NW Michigan. We converted from tent camping to trailer when we aquired a 68 Comanchee ten years ago. I enjoyed working on it and we wished we could use it more. During this period we discovered that we have both always loved Airstreams. Pam and I thought it would be nice to have one someday, specifically old and small. So seven years ago I started snooping around and found out that many of you were way ahead of us. After a couple of near misses and rising values, we found just what I had in mind. Pam found information on a 58 Custom. The skin was in great shape, it was 50 miles from home, affordable and it was gutted. We bought it, piled all the "stuff" that had been torn out back in the trailer and towed it home slowly without incident. It towed very nicely and we were excited. Even though we new it would be a long time before we towed it again.
I the meantime I have enjoyed working on it in spurts when I get time. I have found a wealth of information on the internet and am so grateful for people who know what they are doing and willing to share their experience. Now I'll have to get some photos and progress information together to post. And try to get my questions organized so you all don't figure out that I am jumping around from one task to another. I always admire people who can focus and complete a particular aspect of the project before moving on. I'm not one of them.
We look forward to belonging to this community, learnig some stuff and eventually meeting some of you.

Welcome to you, and don't hold back on the questions. Also you will find using the search functions as well as browsing will give you more info than you might have ever wanted! It also makes us want to do projects we hadn't even thought of yet.
