New to forum
We are Mert & Mary Leeper and live in Littleton, CO. In 2007, we purchased a 19' Bambi. This week we are about to trade it in for a 2009 Airstream Interstate 3500. Our goals are to travel around the US and maybe Canada to see relatives, recreational areas and to meet others who share the distinction of owning Airstream products.
Although we have owned our Bambi for a couple of years, we have never traveled in it and have used it as a motel room at a great RV Park in Buena Vista, CO. It has 104 miles on the tires. So, basically we are new at traveling in a motor home and will probably have a lot of questions.
We will have to renew our membership in the Wally organization.

Welcome aboard. Your plan sounds great.
Traveling for us is a lot more fun than static camping. Enjoy the adventure.

Hello Mert;
Greetings from frigid SW Colorado. Welcome to the forums. When you are out and about touring the country, keep an eye on the forums for rally information. That is the best place to meet dedicated A/S fanatics.
You will find that this forum is where you can find out information on all items concerning A/S products.

Welcome from Palmer Lake. You live near some very active members--AEROWOOD, INSIDEOUT, BEDFORDS, FORREST, 47WEEWIND, and more, I'm sure. But we're all Vintage nuts.

We have an 05 Interstate and have traveled to the 4 corners area and Ohio in it. We love it, except it is small inside in bad weather. Remember it is an interstate touring coach designed for two and you will have a great time! jim

Hello and welcome to the forum. Prior to our Airstream, we toured the western US and Canada in a 2006 Leisure Travel Van (similiar to the Airstream Interstate - Sprinter chassis with Mercedes diesel) Over 16 months, we drove approximately 24,000 miles and had a great time. Best of success.

Thank you all for the welcomes. My wife and I sealed an Airstream deal today. We suprised ourselves by trading our 19 ft Bambi for a 2008 Airstream Safari 23 FB. Thought that since we had a new truck that instead of purchasing an Interstate we would have the flexibility in leaving the trailer at a park and utilizing the truck to go short distances. Also, we saved a huge amount of cash. The 2008 was the last of last years new stock. It is identical to the 2009, except the 09 is called the 23 FB Flying Cloud.
My truck should be ok for the haul, it is a 2007 Ford 150 King Ranch with a SuperCrew cab configeration. Will pick up the new trailer next week.

It is really interesting to note that no 2008 Airstream Safari 23FB exists in the literature. That is why it shows that I just have a Safari 23 (no selection for the model I have). The dealership said that this was built during the change to the Flying Cloud, thus, my 2008 is the same as the 2009, except for the microwave and air conditioner. Interesting phenomena!!! Mert

Welcome. We are rather new to the forums, but have had a 22' 2006 Airstream Interstate for nearly two years. We just rolled over 40,000 miles, and are having the time of our lives. Happy traveling, and will look for you on the road.
