New owners - Old Caravel

Hello all, We looked for over a year for a Caravel or Bambi & finally found a '66 or '67 - we're really not sure - Caravel. It was in a garage/yard sale. Literally in a garage sale. Of course, the reality does not quite meet the claim of "everything is working fine as far as we know". I'll have many questions. We hope to be on the road in the next couple of months. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forums. If you can, post some pictures of your new baby. Someone here will help tell you what year it is. And anything else you need to know, also.
Good luck, Rich

Congratulations and welcome to the Forum.
I've heard a number of storys from Airstreamers about the mystical appearance of the right rig at just the right time. A garage sale fits perfectly into the scheme of things. Mine was literally pulled out from behind an old barn.
You'll find lots of great info here. There is a VIN decoder here somewhere. You'll find the Search feature very handy. Enjoy.

Tom.

Check out the axle. The 1968 and older Caravels and Bambi are famous for axle failures because of a small spindle, and/or just being parked.

We replace about one per week, usually for someone that's on a trip, which because of the axle failure, turns into being stranded away from home.

Posting the serial number, will get the trailer identified for you, post haste.

Andy

Congratulations on your garage sale purchase. All I ever find is old what nots and LP records. Good luck with your new project.
