New owners of our dream

Hello we just purchased a used 2016 flying cloud 25 foot twin haven't gone out any yet been sitting in our driveway so far we love it. did our first dump that went well . I have a question though our converter fan has been running when we turn it on, it started the other night when we had the fantastic fans and stereo on. Just wanted to know if this is normal and when does it shut off I realize it's cooling things down and it has been warm here

We have the same year and model, and that fan is one reason why I replaced the converter/charger with the PD4635, along with wanting to better manage the battery charging. The fan was most apparent late at night when we were trying to sleep.

Why would the converter fan run at night?
What was running on AC?
I thought for a 25 ft would should buy the PD4655... is the 4635 ok?
I also want to do that conversion in a 2014 25fb

The converter is charging the batteries at night or whenever they need charging.

It's normal for the fan to run with a load and warm weather.

Use the PD4655 for the 25' Airstream (we put one in our 25'), it's a direct replacement and will have enough output to run your equipment. The 4635 may not.

When the charger gets hot, the fan turns on. The sound is very prevalent in my rig too.

Congrats on your new AS. When I first got ours I would catch myself just staring at it. Still do!

When we first got our AS the converter fan would often run as you described. But after I replaced the converter with a PD4655 there is no longer any fan noise (well almost none as it rarely runs).

Another benefit of the change is better battery management.

Wishing you many safe miles and good nights as you travel.

Also the fan running because the batteries are charging should go away after like 24hrs. I definitely recommend replacing the factory converter(lots of threads on here for particulars).

And I'd bet your factory batteries are toasted due to the poor factory converter and lack of care...... The converter may be needlessly charging batteries that are wasted......

Hope this helps and we wish you all the best with your coach!
