New owner of '76 Excella 500
Hi all,
Just purchased our first Airstream and found this forum. There aren't enough hours in the day to read all this great information!!! Looking forward to getting to know you all and asking lots of questions. Anyone else in SW Michigan or NW Indiana?

Thank you! I have been reading a lot, but haven't yet found this answer...does anyone know how to find out the original invoice price on this trailer when it was new? I'm just curious.

I have a price list for a 1977 Sovereign , which is the highest on my price list and it is 15,180.00

In current money, it would be something like $80,000.00, give or take a penny or so.
You could get a very good American car for about $4500 in 1977, now a comparable one is around $40,000.

Hi, Tabby,
Welcome. There must be a lot of Michigan 'Streamers. Found mine in Grand Rapids last year. It escaped to Dixe by way of Cleveland and Cinci (business reasons). Atlanta, and HOME. It hasn't been out of Dixie since, but I'm moving soon. Up the antebelum trail I'll go. I'll be a thousand miles south from you, but if I can help in any way, please let me know.

Sharon,
I have fond memories of the 76 model except mine was not the Excella but rather the International with the center bath. I bought it from my uncle and used it while I restored it for several years. My family has great memories of it and my only regret was selling it. I restored it to the best of my ability and ended up selling it to an actor in Hollywood. Hind sight is 20/20 because he won't sell it back to me. I miss that flowered bathroom...you need beads girl!

Thanks for the welcome. I have yet to find any Michigan "Streamers", surely there's some out there somewhere. We're bringing her home today, so we can start going through her.
I'm pretty new to camping, as a whole, so this is exciting. I just wish I had discovered this back when the kids were little...they would have loved it!
The guy we bought her from let us stay in it for a week, to see if we liked it enough to buy it. Thanks for the offer...I'm going to need all the help I can get.
Beads?? Yikes, in all my decorating thoughts, beads never crossed my mind. How could I have forgotten them???

Excella 500
I went back through the forum and found a thread where someone asked about invoice price for a 1978 Excella 500. I posted that Rod Walters from Airstream told me my '77 Excella 500 was $19,830, someone posted their '78 had an invoice price May 2, 1978 of $20,400 and a '79 owner posted theirs was $31,000 with vacuum hydraulic brake system. He must have loaded it up with special options because that is quite a jump for one year.
