New owner - How to identify year

Hi All-

I'm glad I found this forum, it looks like I'm going to find it to be very useful over the next few years.

My husband has an Overlander, that has been sitting on a piece of property unattended for about 12 years. He finally took me out to see it and after a basic wash with de-greaser, I've fallen in love with it. It's a little rough around the edges and could use some serious TLC. A few dents and some water inside of the cabin, but I think we can make everything operational.

I guess the first step in getting the process started is finding out what year it is, so I can locate the appropriate parts. My husband says it's a '61 or '63, but he's not sure. I wasn't able to locate a VIN or anything other than the number on the plate by the door which is S-126410604.

Eventually I want to make the camper a mobile ham radio operating station, I can see it now.... antennas and radios everywhere.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi - I think you have a 1964 Overlander.. Do you have any pictures?

S - Built in California
I - International trim pkg (they usually used a number 1 to represent I)
26 - 26 foot
4 - 1964
1 - double bed layout
0604 - sequential serial number

Yes I do have pics, it's not in the best shape as I mentioned before.... lets see if they attach correctly....
