New owner 1991 excella 25

Hi All

First time Airstream owner here.

I have been lurking on this board, not so much lurking as learning.

I have been searching and educating myself about Airstreams since the first of the year.

Traveled hundreds of miles to check out trailers 1970's vintage.

I was packing to go look at one in Baltimore, (900 miles one way), when I checked the Phoenix AZ CL ads and this one poped up. 1991 Airstream Excella 25 rear twin.

It has been in inland California its whole life. It was owned by a former pilot who keep very good maintenance records and he wanted everything to work. Well it does, no seriously. I am so glad I did not buy one where the refrigerator needed work. The amount charged to fix those things is ridiculous. Have the receipts to prove it.

And yes, it needs axles. Everything I looked at needed them, and this 1991 model does also.

Does traveling 2100 miles one way to buy the trailer I wanted, get me any credit or committed?

That sounds like a great find. Miles don't matter, it it's good and you are willing to go the distance.

Will you or someone actually physically look at it prior to your travel?

No, I did not have anyone look at it. It was a leap of faith on my part. Lucky for me it was as described. I left Wisconsin, last Tuesday and had it home on Sunday. Now the learning really begins.

Toporanger, Welcome to Airforums. Wish you many trips and fun with your Excella. A friend of mine whom I met on the forum found a 1992 Excella, rear twins in PA. Drove from here, Venice, Fl to do the deed. He loves it as well as most of us on the Forums.
