Greetings from Colorado: Welcome to the Airstream community. I find your comment about sheet metal construction interesting. There was a thread here some years ago where a hobbyist was restoring an old Airstream. This person was a sheet metal craftsman from Europe. He was quite complementary of the construction of his old Airstream. It's fun for me to work on these old trailers, however I struggle with installing a new belly pan. A sheet metal craftsman I ain't.
The aluminum body and semi monocoque construction helps the Airstream last a long time. Here is a photo of my 1975 Overlander 27', 43 years old and still going strong. It is a mid twin beds and a rear bath layout. I'm renovating it, but not restoring it. It is a nice sized family Airstream.
Post a photo when you get a chance.
David
