New (old) '69 Safari Owner

Hi! We just bought a 1969 Safari after years of dreaming about owning an Airstream and are so happy! Now Im poking around on the web for good resources and information. We have two little kidlets and two pugs and live near San Francisco. See you around!

<--- no reason, I just love pirates

ahrrrrr matey (pirate talk)

congrats on the 69 safari. we have a 70 safari and have been doing lots of renovation between camps. whic floorplan do you have?

we have two kids. our safari has the a rear bed w/ side bath. we find this size airstream and floorplan is just perfect for this family of four.

I need to get some pics posted. lost of new stuff going on in ours.

we recently moved from santa cruz to austin. I think the next 3 months will be a bit warm for much outdoor activities. however, we recently went to canyon lake. and it was hot at the mid afternoon portion and it was great to retreat into the air condition space. kids watched a DVD on the LCD and I read a book on the rear area.

Thanks ya'll!The floorplan is the one with the forward bath and double across from the galley (unless I have that reversed - the hitch is forward, yes?) Has the two facing couches in the rear which we are going to add some temporary "crib" guard rails for the kids to safely sleep on.
Very excited. Glad to be here! Hopefully will have more photos next weekend.

I took some pics of the inside if anyone wants to check it out. The previous owner had all new upholstery done with palm print sunbrella fabric, nice stuff! Im getting set to make new curtains too.
