New members with '65 Safari

DH and I purchased a 1965 Airstream Safari about 10 months ago. I've always wanted an Airstream. We purchased from our neighbor who has owned this Safari since the 1970's, and has many happy memories camping mostly around Arizona. Overall, it's in pretty good shape for a trailer over 40 years old, probably because it's been in the desert. We are not purists about restoring "original", but would like to remodel the inside for a comfortable RV to travel in.
We are "pre-retirement snow birds". Our main travel is between NW Washington state, and SE Arizona, and would like to use the Airstream to travel in comfort taking 2 or more weeks twice a year to make the trip via different routes.
Looking forward to meeting other Airstream owners!

Welcome

Hi and welcome from the other side of the mountains. We live in the Tri-Cities. We are looking forward to the warmer temps so we can visit the Olympics this summer. Wade and Pam

Tammy and Terry, welcome! I just love the Shelton area (was over there a couple of months ago for Oysterfest). We have a very active group of Airstreamers in the NW area, so be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming rallies. Hope to meet you on the road one day!

Thanks all for the warm welcome Our main residence is in the Pacific Northwest, but 4 years ago we came down to SE Arizona and bought a place to spend the winters. Just couldn't stand the forever grey drizzly weather in the NW. We bought the Safari from our neighbor here in Arizona, and not sure if we will be ready to travel all the way back to Washington with it by April when we head back. We're feeling a little overwhelmed with where to start on the Airstream, but I think if we just get it out somewhere close, it will become obvious! We're really looking forward to attending a Rally, if not this year, next for sure!
