New Members Ron and Carol

My wife and I own a 1986 Sovereign and pull it with a 1993 K-2500 Suburban. We have had this setup for 5 years and are updating some of the interior of the trailer. Our trailer travels started in 1973 with a 19-ft Komfort which is still being used by our oldest daughter and her young family.

I have been looking for advice on what has been done in the way of improving the front located couch to a better double type bed.The trailer is a rear bath with twin beds on either side of the aisle between the bath and the kithchen area. We would like to have a bed around 76 inches long that will sleep two?

Maybe this is something I need to have custom made. The change to mini blinds was a challenge especially in the rear bath with an 47-inch wide by 26-inch tall area and then to allow for privacy and access to the sink faucets, the curved areas and the window closures and opening devices present a minor problem and I had to ensure that the length was precise from the head mount to the fixed mounts at the bottom.

I look forward to any direction anyone has to offer.

Sincerely,

Ron

Welcome to the forums!

Hi Ron, and welcome,

If you search the term gaucho using the search tool on the horizontal blue bar near the top of the page and below the tabs, you will find tons and tons about the subject of reworking of those couches. Happy reading, I look forward to hearing what you come up with.

You can get a new sofa/bed "pull" from an RV dealer for about $4-700.

It should slip right in there, the old one can be sold for a few buck here or on Ebay.

I sold my old one within a week.

Hello Ron -- Welcome to the Forums and thanks for putting up with this morning. The best intentioned moderators deleted his first threads but I saved the text and sent it back to him to make up.

Are you saying that your current couch does not fold down into a double?
