New Members in Arkansas
Hi - hubby and I (REBurt) just bought a 1992 Excella Classic 29' at Airstream of Arkansas (they had ONE Airstream they had traded for!) I hope they get back their dealership, but they're still servicing Airstreams. I couldn't find the thread about the dealership being gone - although I saw a reference to it, but couldn't find it.
We will pick up our new AS on Tuesday! Yaaay. Can't wait to get started. We looked at trailers for months and months - then remembered my folks once bought an old, old, small Airstream - because they believed they are the best. My niece goes to school at Searcy, so we went over to have a look, and found our trailer. We've looked at very expensive fivers, moderate priced, etc., and nothing had the quality - all particle board and laminate. Just didn't feel quite right. Most of the used ones had wavy exteriors where moisture got underneath...just didn't feel right to us.
Researched ad nauseum, read and read. Bought it! Now, whatever the problems are, at least we can come to this forum for help!
Sales manager said the parquet flooring is rare. He's seen maybe 10 in his life which have it. It's not aftermarket, but came that way, he says. If that's true, we're tickled to have something rare.
We have a Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel to pull with, and can't wait to start camping. He's from Florida, I'm from Arkansas. Winters will probably be in Florida.
Thanks for being here - I know we are going to enjoy this community!

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your purchase of the AS. Sounds like you found a good one. Whatever the problems it may have now or in the future you have found the right place to help you get them taken care of (or at least a lot of diverse opinions).

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle
Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.
Congrats on your new baby.
I did not know that Airstream of Arkansas in Searcy had lost their Airstream. They are still showing up on the company website.

I know. Airstream still lists them. Not sure what happened, but we're told they will probably be dealers again by January. We're happy they're still authorized AS service.

Thanks, Callie. Hogs won ~ but no way should we have had that much trouble with the Aggies! I think I'll like you even if Hogs and Longhorns do have rivalry in their histories! LOL Glad you like your trailer. Soon as we make sure our ship is ready and worthy, we'll be going out west in the spring if not before! Got children on both coasts, and in Arkansas, so we may just mosey around a lot.

I bought my new AS from the Arkansas dealer about 6 months ago and they really treated me extremely nice. I also hope they do stay dealers , it would be a shame to lose them.... N.E.AR Butch

Welcome to the forums LawChick!!! I sure hope the business about loosing Airstream dealership is not true. I have had service there and they were the nicest people you could ask for!! I had to drive 2 hours there and back so I am especially glad to have them in Arkansas! As a matter of fact they are on of the only onesin the south. Dallas area is probably the closest one , Im not sure there are any in Tenn., Ms.,La. and it is a LOOOOOOG way to St. Louis or Ok City. These guys also ship so their dealership is not just enjoyed it is needed.
Hope you enjoy your camping and don't forget arkansas has wonderful state parks with full hook-ups and few length restrictions. glogeo

Welcome to both of you!
I know exactly where Morrilton is, I grew up in Paris and now live in Little Rock. I have t agree that wintering in Florida sound good to me, too. Having spent March and November in FL for a few years, I believe it is the place for winter.
Glad you found a nice trailer in Searcy. Unfortunately Airstream of Arkansas appears to have fallen by the wayside. Their old web address now loads a page stating that the website has been discontinued ( Notice To Customers:). I agree, too bad, great people.
We will also be wanting to see some photos of your new acquisition.

I love Arkansas. When I had my Goldwing and my motorhome we'd trailer down to spring time in the Ozarks. I have a friend who had a chicken farm just across the Missouri border north of Eureka. We'd base out of there and ride the NW corner of Arkansas and enjoy the dogwoods and the redbuds.
Sometimes we'd set up in Mountain Home but my favorite spot is Mountain View. We'd go down to the square every evening and listen to the music. The thing that first struck me was all of the rocking chairs on the porches. Here we have so many biting bugs we can't even think of sitting outside. In winter we stay inside because of the cold and in summer we stay inside because of the biting bugs.
