New Member with 2014 Sport 16

Hi,
Have been reading this forum since last year when we started looking at Airstreams but hadn't gotten around to registering.
We have been pop up owners since the late 90's. I got quite ill in 2012 and we decided life was too short so we bought a 2003 VW Westfalia. We loved it but it was just too tight. Started looking around, gave up on Roadtreks real quick and started looking at light weight trailers. We went to Can Am in London to look at the Altos and actually made a deal on one. We did look at the Airstreams as well and the group there assured us that out Outback could easily handle a Sport.
I came home and did a bunch of research and made the plunge, redid the deal with Kirk and Joe and we got our new baby in June 2014.
Did a decent trip in it last year down thru NY state over to Maine, up to Bar Harbor and then up to Quebec City and over to Tadousac to see the whales. Had to add a tranny cooler but other than that the Outback tows it with ease, even in the mountains in the heat.
Absolutely love our Bambi, the bed is a little tight but I am getting used to it.
Love playing around in it, doing upgrades almost as much as travelling. We can wait till we retire in a few years and get to really travel.
Sorry for the long introduction .

Congratulations on the new AS. My wife and I picked up our 2015 Sport 16 on the 15th of January and have spent fourteen nights in it so far. We love ours. Seems very spacious to us and the design works perfectly for us. So far the mods I have done are replacing the very noisy fridge vent fan, building a smaller table to make the seating area more comfortable, and installing a "Home Sweet Home" screen guard. Lots of fun. We leave on the 18th for Suwanee River State Park for a week or so. Retirement sure is great.

D Greene, would you be willing to share more information about the fan replacement? Was it a difficult modification? Where did you get the quieter fan? I'm also very happy with our 16' Sport, but there are a few things I'd like to improve.

I picked up my 2015 Bambi 2/18. My major issue is the very NOISY air conditioner. There probably isn't anything that can be done to manage this but would really appreciate any suggestions other then turning it off.

I don't know what to say about your air-conditioner being noisy other than to say mine is too. However, I had another brand (SOB) prior to the airstream and it too was very noisy. So from my experience that seems to be common for RV's. I'm happy to have air-conditioning.

Congratulations!

Small is beautiful. Especially when it's aluminum.

We spent up to 6 weeks in our 16-footer (and did a recent 6 weeks in our current 19-footer) and never felt crowded. We just look for efficient uses of space, don't take stuff we don't really need, and get used to answering lots of questions about it.
