New member w/new Flying Cloud & TV

It all started when my family had a 70's Airstream for a summer. I've always wanted to get one for my family one day. About 3yrs ago I purchased a 66 Overlander and started to restore it, but it turned out to be a bigger project than I wanted so I sold it with the intentions of buying a brand new on. Well I was going to buy a 23' Flying Cloud and pull it with my 67 Chevy C-10 truck, but the family wanted the larger 25' FB Flying Cloud. So I had to get a larger truck also. Anyways, I posted pics of my original 66 & the new 2011. Our first trip is in a few weeks!

A Beautiful sight to see! You are set now! A very winning combination of trailer and TV. Yes, once you get introduced to a shinny Airstream nothing else really has much appeal. I want to get a professional lettering job for my back window "Airstream, there are many like it, but this one is mine" !

Thanks, I just rec'd the extended drop down for the hitch setup so as soon as I figure out my generator situation I should be set. I've narrowed it between the Yamaha 2400 & the Honda 3000.

The first day I towed it home I parked it in the driveway and we spent the night in it (yes we are nerds). The only complaint was the mattresses are "HARD" and we didn't sleep very well. Maybe we will add memory foam or something. Oh, and my wife got up in the middle of the night and almost knocked herself out on the overhead cabnets. Guess she forgot were she was at & I'll be sleeping on that side from now on!

we thought our mattress was too hard also. A quick trip to Sam's Club resulted in a reasonably priced 2 1/2 thick memory foam pad that came with a cover. We put it under the all cotton mattress pad we had gotten and now the bed is just right - good support and good squishiness combination. I highly recommend the memory foam pad.
