new member needs advice on buying used

I've been reading quite a bit on the forums about different issues with the airstreams have but one in particular issue seems to be floor rot. Are there certain years that it is more prevalent. We're interested in 2007 to 2010. Any advice would be appreciated.

Floor rot is a result of water leaking in and usually traveling down between the inner and outer shell till it hits the floor. The newer the trailer the less likely to find floor rot, with the exception of some of the FB models had consistent problems around the door area.

Other than going around the perimeter of the floor and checking for softness with something like an ice pick, and then only on carpeted areas, I know of no other way to check for it.

1. Floor rot particularly on the rear because of the unsealed joint at the top of the trunk behind the belt trim.
2. Volunteer to wash it. You'll find everything on the outside.
3. Check the belly for rubbed through rivets. It shakes a lot because the tires are not balanced and neither are the wheels
4. There is probably an inspection list on here somewhere
5. Leaks on the belt line where water runs off the sides of the awnings and down the side.
6. Most leaks you can't see because AS installs the floor before the furniture so the leaks are hidden by the vinyl or carpet
7. Hidden bottom damage, particularly the tanks because AS is so low to the ground. Check all the drain petcocks
8. Be sure you get all the owner's manuals
9. Check for and get all the keys for all the compartments
10. Check for a leaking sewer valve
11. Test the appliances
12. Test the converter and inverter. I find they are notorious for lose connections that buzz
13. Tell tale leak trails of white oxidized aluminum down from the windows on the inside
14. Tire dates
15. Refrigerator in all modes
16. Vent covers condition on the roof
17. Antenna crank operates smoothly and antenna goes up and rotates well
