Cool New Member Intro! Nick A.

Greetings to Everyone! I'm a new member!
I have a 29ft '87 Soverign I was lucky enough to inherit from my parents.
I have always loved the outdoors, weather hiking, backpacking, motorcycling, hunting, or trailering. My family has worked their way up to the Airstream, as many folks do, starting from humble beginnings of tent camping when I was very young; then we acquired a pop up camper, later an 18 ft Glendette we hauled from Atlanta to Expo '67 in Canada; Progressing to a 21 ft Terry I learned to tow when I was 16 years old (that was a beast to tow, nothing like an Airstream!). Finally my parents bought a used Airstream, and later purchased a new Airstream in 1987 . Many summer vacations to Florida and fall excursions to the Blue Ridge & Smokey Mountains were enjoyed with these "towing toys". When my Mom passed several years ago, Dad lost his desire to hook up and tote the trailer anymore. He asked me if I would like to have it as part of my inheritance. "Well, DUH! Of Course, Yes!". My wife and I lived in it for two months while we built a new home, and our family have had many years of fun in it!

Nick, glad to see you on the forums. Hope you can make it to the rally the weekend of April 20 in Hiawassee, GA. We have a great time. Do a forum search on Springtime Fling; Hiawassee, GA.; Cloudland Canyon; Georgia Mountain Fair and you will see some of the pictures we have posted from our informal rallies over the last several years. Oh, I forgot, do you like to eat? You wouldn't believe the food spread.

What a wonderful story. Aren't these trailers just like a family member? You have made my day.

Good morning, Craig,
I do like to eat! Maybe a little too much, but that's another story. Hiwassee holds a lot of memories for me, too. My dad found this little campground and trout ranch on Bear Meat Road up there years ago. We went there many times. They are out of business now, but I would love to come. I also was hikiing in Cloudland Canyon when the blizzard of 93 hit. My wife and I have a story to tell on that little excursion. Three feet of snow when they predicted three inches. Abandoned equipment and hiked out to a cabin for 4 days to survive! Anyway, if I can come depends on how some rental properties I have work out in April; it's always something. If they sell, I will be there!

Nick,
Hope the rental properties sell because we would like to hear how your snow story went and what you did to survive.
