Morning. My wife and I just purchased a 2005 Safari Bunkhouse, and I'm fixing to mount up and journey to Tennessee to pick it up. I've added a digital break controller to my pickup, the guy is adding various other arcane things when I arrive, and I'm bringing a strong yet simple minded family member (ha! yeah, I'm talking about you ) to do the heavy lifting. I feel relatively confident that I will return, basically whole in mind and body, from this epic trek. I look forward to making several mistakes, and being corrected/saved/snickered at by all of you
...also, I have no idea what S/O means.

Congratulations!!! I always loved the Safari Bunk 30' model, unfortunately, there are not too many out there. It was Airstreams best attempt to enter a market for 7+ sleeping capacity, there are many unique features and ideas that are not seen on other Airstream models. I especially loved the ones built with the optional leather sofa for extra sleeping capacity, instead of the chairs.

Ok....I'll bite.
Iv'e often wondered. Is that a picture of the reason it's called a "bunk"?

I think it is called bunk because of the bunk beds in the rear. I've seen a few of these and it is a very nice setup for a growing family.
