New member in Ontario

Two winters ago spent three months in Florida and Texas camping with a tent with our Mazda Protoge. Last winter spent over three months in Texas camping in a Savana passenger van, never put tents up, slept evey night in van.Now seen the light and are looking for small trailer. We have never towed anything before so are looking for lots of answers. It looks as though this is good place to start.

welcome! well, you've come to the right place. be warned though, we are all pretty crazy about our airstreams and argosys. you picked the best place to ask questions and find friends! if you have any questions, use the search box to find if others have asked or answered similiar questions. feel free to browse and learn why we are in love with our aluminum babies!

Yonner :

Since you're from Caimbridge...take a trip down the 401 to Lambeth (just west of London) to the Can-Am Airstream Dealership.

Here's the link for the Ontario Airstream association Ontario Unit WBCCI & the link for Can-Am is there as well.

We own a 25' Airstream Safari & tow it with our Nissan Altima. We have been out to the US east coast (Annapolis sailboat show) 5 times & down to Florida 5 times as well.

There's truly nothing like an Airstream...& like sailing, it's all about the freedom.

Good luck to you.

Regards, Paul.

We looked for the right Airstream for a number of years. Eventually found the 23' we wanted in Ontario. Can Am usually has a number of pre owned units at their store.

Thanks for the info and the link. I am amazed that you can tow a 25' trailer with the Altima.I intend to troll the forums to see what is possible. Our sail boat was built in London Ont. in 1974. a Douglas 32. Now for sale to give us more time to camp. The sailing season is so short here.

Thanks, I have been watching the Auto trader.but am willing to do some work on an older one,if i can find one. Have you any idea what is involved with importing one from the States? Do we pay duty I wonder, will the electrics meet canadian standards or is that a non issue.I know importing boats got simpler after free trade.
