Inthe firste time, excuse me about my english (it isn't perfect ! But I do the better...)
I'm a new member; my name is Gaël and I like airstream's trailer since few years.
I would like to buy it but in france it's very difficult because the europeans trailers are very different to US trailers... and in order to drive with it's so difficult about the law... I'll explain it more later when I'll have many time.
To drive an airstream, I have a little Jeep Cherokee 2000 with Chrysler engine 4.0 Litre.
I hope to learn many things here and I think because I'have already read little post in this forum.
I'm not sure if you know this, but Airstreams are now made in Europe too. There are dealers in the UK, Germany and Holland, but I don't think there are any in France yet. The Airstreams built in Europe conform to most European laws. Here is a link to their website... Airstream Europe :: Home
Gael Bonjour et bienvenue à la tribune Airstream. Please do not apologize for your English. It is much better than our French.
Airstream is making a trailer to European standards now. Check the Airstream website. Again, Welcome.

Yes, that's right, I'have saw that there are dealers in Europe but only for new airstream but to me (just for now, in few years/mounth) I would like to buy an airstream but used airstream (1970 for example). I know dealers in UK (news), in Germany (used).
Why a used ? Because I would like to make an hand made interior...
You will find a weatlh of information here, and many people that are willing to help. You are also a great addition, as many of us are interested in what is happining in Europe with so much Airstream interest and fasicination. I travel in the South of France on occasion (antiquaries)and have spotted a few Airstreams on Holiday from England. They are quite beautiful rolling along the Mediterranean !
We wish you good luck in finding your Airstream caravan.
Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your search. It can take some time but even the search is enjoyable. I use the 4.0L engine to tow a 6 metre Minuet. Our longest trip so far was 1600 kilometers.

HI THERE
well if you need some info on towing airstreams in france ,you can always come to the european airstream meeting in aug 2008 in the south of france
have to go now will follow this thread and good luck and WELCOM !!!! this i
At the first perhaps, that I buy an "european" trailers because my wife don't like airstream's body ... yes because when she look boedy, it seems for her that it have many impacts or "hump" because the body is in stainless...
However I say that it could be repair and polish ! But she don't convict ! And I can buy a new airstream, it's so expensive for me 47.000 euros...or 70.000 USD... ! And to have 70's, it cost 15.000 euros (22.000 USD) the same price that a new european trailer.
