Hi there. My wife and I are restoreing a 65 Caravell. The top three panels were severely dented. After removeing them, a friend was able to work the dents out using an english wheel. Even the rivit holes lined up. I hope this can be of help to smeone.

Welcome to the forum. I am always happy to see someone from the Midwest restoring an Airstream. Somehow it seems they all make it to California or Seattle so it is nice to know we have another one here in God's country.
An English wheel? You got me there. Please expand or supply a picture or two. I am thrilled that it worked particularly since the metal must have been stretched.

English Wheel

is used for making compound curves. It is truely an art form to get it to come out just the way you want. Used in the aircraft industry as well as other metal forming areas including motorcycle gas tanks. I've watched Jesse on Monster Garage form a few items with his. It would take a larger one than the one shown to reform an Airstream end panel but you get the idea.

Hi All: I'm Don and my wife is Marilyn. We are glad to be in safe hands once again - always a nice feeling especially when we are away camping for extended periods. We're from Vancouver B.C. Lowermainland, Surrey to be exact. My Family has been "airstreaming" for years. At the present time we are looking for a airstream trailer of 1990 to 2003 vintage, one that sleeps six. ie with a queen or double beds aft, a dinnett and sofa up front. If anyone has such an item available please let us know. I expect it will be between 25 and 28 feet in length.
